New Year's holidays are already very close, which means that there comes a time of joyful gluttony and plentiful libations. Fortunately, there is the possibility of a tasty meal, and not to gain a lot of unnecessary kilograms.
We present you the most delicious salads for the New Year 2018. Our recipes require minimal effort when cooking, and they look on the table and the photo is perfect, which makes them the perfect choice for the New Year's table.
10. Salad with tomatoes and pomegranate
A spicy combination of sweet and sour pomegranate and tomatoes gives this salad a very original taste.
Auxiliary components: 2 cloves of garlic chopped, half a teaspoon (tsp) chopped allspice, 2 tsp. pomegranate juice, 2 hours wine vinegar, seeds from a large pomegranate, a quarter cup of olive oil, salt to taste, several sprigs of parsley.
The main components: 300 gr cherry tomatoes, cut into small cubes, 300 gr. red tomatoes, chopped into small cubes, 450 gr. sliced tomatoes, 1 red bell pepper, diced, red onion, sliced in half rings.
Cooking method:
- In a large bowl, mix all the tomatoes, peppers and onions.
- In a small bowl, mix together garlic, allspice, vinegar, oil, pomegranate juice and salt.
- Add the contents of the bowl to the tomatoes and mix gently.
- Put the mixture of tomatoes and juices on a large flat plate.
- Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds and parsley on top.
- If necessary, add more olive oil and serve the salad on the table.
9. Brussels sprouts salad with bacon
A delicious salad that combines healthy vegetables and a little tasty meat.
Auxiliary ingredients: a couple of teaspoons of lemon juice, 1 t. Dijon mustard, 1 tsp. shallots, finely chopped, 1 minced clove of garlic, salt and black pepper to taste, a quarter cup of olive oil.
The main ingredients: 1/2 head of thinly chopped green cabbage, 450 gr. thinly sliced Brussels sprouts, 3-4 slices of bacon, baked and finely chopped, 100 gr. fried almonds, sliced, half a glass of grated cheese of your choice.
Cooking:
- Combine all the ingredients for dressing in a small bowl.
- Slice and mix both types of cabbage in a large bowl.
- Add bacon, almonds and cheese.
- Add the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
8. Caprese avocado
This is an easy and very tasty dish, after which guests will probably be asked to share the recipe.
Ingredients: 75 gr. balsamic, 2 tablespoons of sugar (preferably brown), vegetable oil, two chicken breasts, salt and seasoning to taste, 900 gr. chopped lettuce, 150 gr. Mozzarella cheese (in the form of oval balls), 150 gr. cherry tomatoes, cut in half, 1 peeled and chopped in small cubes avocado, 100 gr. finely chopped (or manually torn) basil leaves.
Cooking method:
- Add balsamic and sugar to a small saucepan and set to boil.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat by half, leaving to simmer for about 6 minutes, turn off the heat. Let the mixture cool.
- Heat a little oil over medium heat and fry chicken breasts grated with salt and seasoning until tender. Allow to cool before slicing.
- Put lettuce in a large bowl; add chicken, cheese, tomatoes, sliced avocado and basil on top.
- Pour the mixture of balsamic vinegar and sugar over the salad and mix gently.
- Serve immediately.
7. Herringbone
This beautiful salad will decorate the New Year's table.
Ingredients: one potato, a small carrot, a small onion, a pound of beef tongue (boiled), 1 tablespoon of pomegranate seeds, 2 pickled cucumbers, 3 black olives, 10 gr. sweet canned corn, a bunch of parsley, mayonnaise, salt and vegetable oil.
Cooking method:
- Boil potatoes and carrots and cut into cubes.
- Dice the boiled beef tongue.
- Cut the onion into half rings and fry in oil until it becomes transparent.
- Cut the cucumbers into strips that are not too thick.
- Combine these salad ingredients and mix thoroughly.
- Season with mayonnaise and place on a tray in the form of a Christmas tree.
- Lay parsley branches on top of the lettuce, they will imitate fir branches.
- Put pomegranate seeds in the form of a Christmas garland on top of parsley, and olives and corn cut into two will be “Christmas balls”.
6. Salad a la cake
This salad combines two advantages: a minimum of ingredients and a maximum of taste. Ideal if guests are about to arrive and the New Year’s table is not yet set.
What is required: 1 can of canned pineapples, 1 onion, a pound of chicken, mayonnaise to taste.
How to cook:
- Boil the chicken, cool, cut into cubes and lay in a small circle. This will be the first layer of “cake”.

5. Grape salad with chicken

Ingredients: 400 gr. Striped chicken breast, 100 g. slices of bread, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, 300 gr. finely chopped carrots, 150 gr. chopped celery, 200 gr. green grapes and 200 gr. red grapes, cut in half, 200 gr. finely chopped apples, 300 gr. salad chicory, 50 gr. white wine vinegar, 50 ml. olive oil, a bunch of dill and parsley.
Cooking method:
- Heat the oven to 200 ° C.
- Fry the chicken in hot oil for two minutes.
- Fry the slices of bread in the oven until they are golden brown and crisp. It takes about 15 minutes.
- Mix chicory, carrots, apples, celery and grapes with vinegar and olive oil.
- Season the dish with salt and ground pepper.
- Add chicken and toasted bread, and sprinkle herbs on top of the appetizer.
4. Salad with tangerines and shrimp
Tangerines for the New Year are the same classics as a decorated Christmas tree and champagne. However, let's get creative and use tangerines for a delicious salad.
Components: 6 tangerines, 150 gr. shrimp, one apple, 100 gr. celery, 4 tbsp. mayonnaise, a tablespoon of lemon juice, herbs and salt (as much as you like).
How to cook:
- Boil and cool the shrimp.
- Peel 4 tangerines and divide into segments, squeeze the juice from the remaining ones.
- Sliced peeled apple.
- Finely chop the celery.
- Combine all of the above ingredients.
- Mix tangerine juice with mayonnaise, add herbs and salt.
- Add this dressing to the main course.
3. Cod salad
This delicate and satisfying snack will appeal to fish lovers.
Ingredients: can of cod liver, 3 eggs, 2 pieces of processed cheese, onion, 3 potatoes, one carrot, 200 gr. mayonnaise.
Cooking process:
- Cook carrots, potatoes and eggs.
- Put the grated potatoes on a tray.
- Spread mayonnaise on top with a not too thick layer.
- The second layer is the cod liver, gently mashed with a fork into small pieces (not mushy).
- The third layer is grated carrot. Lubricate this layer with mayonnaise.
- The next layer is finely chopped onion. If you pre-pour it with boiling water, then there will be no bitterness in taste.
- Then - a layer of processed cheese. Top - mayonnaise.
- Then comes a layer of grated chicken yolks. On top of them is mayonnaise.
- Top layer - grated chicken proteins.
- Cover the salad with cling film and leave it in the refrigerator for an hour before serving.
2. Meat Salad
Fish, vegetables and fruits are, of course, good. However, if you can’t live without meat, then here is the salad, the main ingredient of which is beef.
The main components: a pound of beef pulp, 150 gr. lettuce or arugula, 120 gr. cherry tomatoes, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 0.5 tsp balsamic vinegar, 5 gr. sesame, salt to taste.
Cooking method:
- Cut beef into thin slices. It will be more tender if you marinate it for about ten minutes in a mixture of a tablespoon of olive oil and soy sauce.
- Fry meat for five minutes over high heat.
- Put the leaves of arugula on the tray, on top - meat, and on the edges - halves of cherry.
- Pour the meat juice that remained after frying, add the balsamic and sprinkle the dish on top with sesame seeds.
1. Doggie
The patron of the coming 2018 is a dog, which means there should be a dish dedicated to dog-related topics on the festive table.
You will need: 6 potatoes, processed cheese, 3 chicken eggs, 300 gr. smoked chicken, a small piece of ham, 6 pcs. cloves, salt to taste, a bunch of dill, 150 gr. pickled mushrooms, 4 carrots, mayonnaise.
How to cook:
- Boil eggs, potatoes and carrots and grate. Place the egg yolk and protein in different plates.
- Finely chop the mushrooms (except 2-3) and chicken.
- Let's start creating the silhouette of the future dog. First comes the bulk of the potato, from which you will get a muzzle and ears.
- Lubricate the potato layer with mayonnaise and lay the chicken next.
- Next is a layer of egg white (leave some of the protein, it will come in handy).
- Then the mushrooms.
- Then - cream cheese, grated. Lubricate this layer with mayonnaise.
- Then - carrots.
- The last layer is the remaining potatoes, it should cover all other components.
- Carefully brush the top of the salad with mayonnaise.
- Chicken yolk will become the contour of the muzzle.
